Security Tips
Test your alarm system at least once or twice a month to ensure that it is still functional and signals received by the control room.
Arm your system when you are not at home, even if you are going out for a short while.
Do not leave house or vehicle keys in your house when you are out.
Inspect your perimeter fence to ensure that it is protecting you and your assets.
Keep shrubs in and outside your yard trimmed to prevent criminals using it as a hiding place.
Make sure your gate is secured with stoppers to prevent lifting it off its rail.
If you suddenly do not have water supply do not go out to see if someone closed your outside tap, especially at night. Criminals do this to lure you outside your home. Call the Control Room and let the reaction officer check the tap for you.
If you suspect there is someone in your yard, do not go out. Press your panic button or call the Control Room.
Be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious persons and vehicles.
Inspect the boundary fences between your property and all your neighbors and ensure that it, as well as your street front is well protected. Criminals jump fences between properties and once they are in they cannot be seen from the street.
Do not leave vehicles on road reserves or in the street. Avoid if possible.
Be vigilant and be safe.
